| Arecord 8,000 to 10,000 people visited the Peter Becker
Community Flower Show on March 13, 14 and 15. The opening
soiree, held Wednesday evening, March 12, drew 180 paid
guests for this special preview/fundraiser. Backdrops
of the English countryside surrounded the visitor as they
entered the show. In the middle of the room, an English
cottage awaited the eager visitor. |

| Inside
the cottage a coal fire glowed in the fireplace. On the mantle,
an old clock ticked contentedly. Books lined the shelves of the
bookcase and in the corner, the artist had just put down her brush
and made a cup of tea. |

First
prize for the interhome competition was awarded to the Gwynedd
Estates Garden Club for their clever use of a "trug". |
