Announcing The Escape to the Cape Contest
A new employee incentive program that is designed to get you out and walking.
Register: March 29 & 30th
11am - 1pm or 2 - 4pm
Board Room
Contest Runs: April 1 - June 30th
Grand Prize is a $500 gift certificate to a Bed & Breakfast in Cape May, NJ.
Here’s how the contest works. Employees will have 3 months to walk 140 miles: the distance to Cape May, New Jersey. Each employee who accomplishes the goal (tracked by a personal pedometer) in the time frame (April 1 – June 30) will be entered into a drawing to win the Grand Prize of a $500 gift certificate to a Cape May Bed & Breakfast. There are lots of other great prizes being offered including gift certificates, tickets to sporting events, etc.
Peter Becker will be kicking off it’s “Escape to the Cape Contest” on March 29th and 30th with company execs wearing shorts and sneakers in the workplace and encouraging employees to register, pick up their pedometer and get stepping, striding or strolling. According to McConnell, “we chose Cape May because it has a rich history, award-winning beaches, and it is a seaside resort with lots of appeal. There will be plenty of time for the winner to use the package this summer. The winner will be chosen by drawing and named at the annual employee meeting in July. We are hoping that the staff sees this as a real incentive to get up and get walking. Participation does cost a nominal $10 entrance fee to cover the cost of the pedometer, but with all the prizes at stake it shouldn’t hinder anyone.” Contact:
