COMMUNITY READING DAY
On Tuesday, May 8, 2012, more than 110 member volunteers of the PennSuburban Chamber of Commerce visited second grade classrooms throughout area public and private schools to read a designated book to each class and then present that book, as a gift, to the school library. This community-wide project included three Peter Becker Community Executives: Carol Berster, CEO, Harry McConnell, VP of HR, and Paul Nye, VP of Mission Support, and is aimed at promoting literacy. Each of the execs visited a different 2nd grade class in our area.

Carol Berster read to children of Mrs. Robbins 2nd Grade Class at St. Maria Goretti School as part of the Penn Suburban Chamber of Commerce COMMUNITY READING DAY.

The beautifully illustrated book, “The Pout Pout Fish in the Big Big Dark” was read by Berster. It’s about a fish who overcomes his fear of the dark with the help of some friends. After the reading, the book was donated to the classroom library. The children loved the story and were eager to take the book home to read on their own.

All of the participants truly appreciated the opportunity to share their time in the greater community.

The Lebanon Valley Youth Choir presented a wonderful concert on May 4th at 7 pm to the residents and general public.
