Veteran’s Club - Meets Monday, May 7 at 1:30 PM – Arbor Conference Center
Speaker will be Gretchen Glenn, LSW Philadelphia VA Medical Center, will be speaking on Parkinson’s disease and Veterans. Gretchen will also be talking about other services offered at the Philadelphia VA Hospital.

PBC Vision Education and Support Group - No meeting this month.

Smile A While - Meets Monday, May 14 at 2:00 PM - Arbor Conference Center (ACC)

Heart Strings Dementia Support Group- Meets Thursday, May 17 at 4:00 PM - ACC

Parkinson’s Support Group -  MeetsTuesday, May 22 at 1:00 PM - Chapel
Speaker is Alicia Fergus, the Older Adult Coordinator at the Indian Valley YMCA, she Alicia will be
discussing staying fit with PD.

Bayada - Meets Monday, May 21 at 10:00 AM - Arbor Conference Center
Our guest speaker will be discussing diabetes.

Support Groups Meet on Campus and Offer Help to the Greater Community

If you or someone you know is struggling with age-related problems, a support group could do a world of good.

The following support groups are held monthly are open to the public.

Please contact Laura Detwiler, Social Worker, at 215-703-4038 with
questions or if you would like to participate.

Heart Strings

Meets: 3rd Thursday of each month at 4 PM in the Arbor Conference Center* (ACC); for people with a loved one suffering from dementia.
Focus:Sharing struggles, coping & guest speakers
Approved by the Alzheimer’s Association.

Parkinson Support Group

Meets: 4th Tuesday of each month at 1 PM in the Chapel & Orchid Terrace; for people living with Parkinson’s Disease.
Focus: Guest speakers present monthly on new treatments, methods to overcome disease changes and more; each session closes with small group discussions.
Facilitators: Lisa Peklak, RN and Laura Detwiler, BSW

Vision Support

Meets: 4th Monday of each month at 2 PM in the ACC; for people with low vision (example: macular degeneration, cataracts, changes in vision).
Focus: Guest speakers and members present on assistive devices to help people
continue to read, participate in activities and live independently.
