Once again we are pleased to report that despite the extremely high rate of COVID-19 in Montgomery County we have had only one positive test returned so far this week from tests run on Wednesday, December 23. The individual staff member works part time in the campus center dining area. To date, from this week’s testing of residents in skilled nursing and personal care and all employees, we have 386 negative tests and the one positive just mentioned.
On Monday, December 28, we begin to offer twice weekly testing to staff working in skilled nursing while continuing weekly testing for residents in personal care and all other employees. This is based on the level of positivity in the county being above 10%.
We are very grateful that our staff and residents continue to be very diligent in reducing their exposure to the virus by limiting visits and adhering to suggested recommendations. We look forward to receiving the vaccine which will begin to bring back some normalcy.
The dates for receiving the vaccinations have been updated. Skilled nursing residents and some employees will receive the first shot on Sunday, January 3. We are expecting new dates for personal care resident vaccinations. We will also continue to work with the pharmacy providing the vaccinations to determine next steps for residential living residents. We will continue to update this information as it is available.
